Jake Bonham, a teenage boy from a wealthy family is expected to follow in his father's footsteps. Instead, Jake decides to follow his dream of becoming a great Blues musician. He comes of age on a journey through rural Mississippi with his lifelong crush, Maggie, and The Mississippi Mud Dog, a middle-aged, washed-up Blues legend. Along the way Jake learns about life, love and the meaning of music. He ends up teaching those around him valuable life lessons as well.
