Charlie is inspired by his parents to do what he loves. He moves to LA as a young man to pursue his dream and become a working actor. Ten unsuccessful years later, now a veteran waiter with an acting manager who lives in a tent, the dream is slowly slipping away. His girlfriend Kate, also a struggling actress who labors as a children's birthday clown on the side, is ready to get married, start a family, and possibly surrender to the inevitability of not making it. Strained by the loss of love, family, and the forces of Hollywood that seem unwilling to give Charlie a break, he finds inspiration in the most unexpected of places.
